Stimming List as iPhone Menu
I have been trying to think of a way to post a list of stimming behaviors without it being, as most lists tend to be, visually boring. The other day I was playing with a Photoshop file from teehan+lax containing the iPhone GUI (graphical user interface) and thought I’d try to do an animation with it. It’s somewhat interesting and, as a bonus, repeats.
Stimming, short for self-stimulation, is abnormal repetitive behavior and is commonly seen in disorders such as autism. But many so-called “normal” people have stimming as well. Some twirl their hair or pace or jiggle their foot when they are nervous or thinking. But “normals” don’t call it abnormal.
This animation only contains a list of 20 or so. To see a more complete list of stims go here and then to page 2.
